Use these steps to clean up the sound of phone audio.
In the EDL (Project), right-click in the upper-right-hand corner of the light gray block at the start of the track.
Choose: Add Effect -> EQ

The EQ effect appears. Click on the arrow in the box.

The EQ plug-in opens.

Grab the dot labelled "1" and drag it down until the first text box reads approximately 200. (That stands for 200 Hz.)

Grab the dot labelled "4" and drag it down until the first text box reads approximately "3300" (stands for 3300 Hz).

If the fix removed too much clarity from the voice, you can move the dot labelled "4" to the right a little.
Save the EDL.
You are done!
