Here is the SOP for recording automation breaks in Dalet.
1. Login to the DaletPlus client using your own username and password
2. Click on the Media tab, double click on 'Classical MPR', then 'Voice Tracking', then click the show folder that you need to record breaks for.
3. Double click on the break file you need to record to open the file in OneCut.
4. Before clicking in the OneCut window, hit 'Delete' on your keyboard to remove the old audio.
5. Refer to the traffic log for any promos that need to air during the break. If there are no promos to air, skip to step 9.
6. Click the 'Search' tab in Dalet and search for the promo listed on the traffic log
7. Drag the promo file from the 'Search' tab into the OneCut session and place it at the beginning (00.000)
8. Hit the ']' key on your keyboard to move the playhead to the end of the promo.
9. Click record (F4), do your voice tracking, click stop (Spacebar.)
10. Top and tail the segment by hovering your curser over the beginning/end of the segment, left clicking, and dragging.
11. If you adjusted the top of the segment, slide the segment either to the end of the promo, or all the way to left (00.000) if there is no promo. Dalet renders the file from 00.000 until they last piece of audio, so if your segment isn’t all the way to the left, or there is a gap between the promo and voice track, there will be silence after you save. To move the file, left click on the blue bar at the top of the segment, and drag the file.
12. Make sure the total time ends up close to 59.000. Use the "Total Time" in the bottom right hand corner of OneCut to figure out the time.
13. Click the lower “X” at the top right hand corner of Dalet to close the file, click yes to Save and Overwrite file.
14. Double check the file length in the media browser after you saved to make sure the Duration shows 00’58 or 00'59
15. Repeat steps 3-14 for the rest of the breaks you need to record.
Notes:
It may be helpful for you to save a Dalet 'Workspace' that opens directly to the '/Classical MPR/Voice Tracking/' folder with the screen setup how you prefer. If you need help doing this, send an email to Dalet Help DaletHelp@mpr.org
If double clicking the file opens it up in Media Cutter and you are unable to delete the old audio, Click the 'Tools' menu at the top left corner of Dalet, then 'Open Modes', then select 'Production Mode.'
