The Dalet application on your PC actually runs two different components. The first component is the Dalet application. This is the part of the software that you see and interact with. The second component is the Dalet Service. The Dalet service is the component that loads audio drivers, manages interactions with the Windows operating system, and establishes communications with the servers. When issues are experienced with Dalet restarting the client does not always fix the issue--sometimes the Dalet Service also requires a restart.

Common scenarios that require a service restart:

• Docking/undocking your workstation (I.E. moving from the dock to WiFi)
• Any type of audio issues/errors when at your dock or desk
• FIFO extraction issues
• When the Dalet Service icon in the system tray (next to your clock) is red instead of green

In order to simplify restarting the Dalet Service Stefan Olson wrote a handy little application. This application lives on your desktop for quick and easy access. In order to restart the Dalet Service do the following:

• Close out of your Dalet Client

• Double click the "Restart Dalet Service" icon on your desktop

• Click "Ok" to restart your Dalet service. This will take approximately 45 seconds. Note that this WILL force your client closed if you did not close your client. Make sure all work is saved.

• The application will prompt you when the service restart is complete. Click "OK" and relaunch your client. The Dalet Service icon in your tray should now be green.
